What this macro does

The Team Hub Post Card macro lets you embed a single, live post card from the Team Hub app directly into any Confluence page. The embedded card mirrors the post in Team Hub and updates automatically when the original post changes (title, description, status, reactions, participants, etc.).

  • Keeps readers in context: consume key post information without leaving the page.

  • Always up to date: reflects the latest state of the source post.

  • Respects permissions: only users who can access Team Hub will see the content.

How to add a macro

Option 1 - copy post card link

  1. Form the card contextual menu, select Share post → Copy link

  2. Paste the link into your confluence page. The card will be automatically shown.

Option 2 - insert the macro manually

This option requires the user to copy the post ID from an existing post

The macro securely requests post metadata from Team Hub using the ID (title, summary, category, dates, participation, reactions, status).

The macro renders a compact card view optimized for Confluence layout with interactive elements when available (e.g., join/interest for events) and quick links to open the post in Team Hub.

Access control

The macro does not bypass Team Hub permissions. If a viewer does not have access to the source post, the macro will display a restricted/permission message instead of the card details.

Troubleshooting

  • Card shows “not found” or “no access”: Verify the Post ID and confirm the viewer has permission to see the post in Team Hub.

  • Card layout looks empty: Check if the post is a draft or closed; the macro reflects the post’s current state and visibility settings.

  • The ID format isn’t recognized: Copy the link again from Share post and extract the final ID segment to avoid hidden characters.

Use cases

  • Project pages: Pin a milestone announcement or internal opportunity next to your plan.

  • Event pages: Embed the event card to show date/time, location, and participation signals inline.

  • Team homepages: Highlight a rotating “Post of the Week” without manual screenshots.

Roadmap and upcoming features

We’re continuously improving the macro based on feedback. The following items are planned:

  • Build in search - instead of copying a post link or ID user will get an interactive posts search/insert panel

  • Inline actions: React, comment, and express “Going/Interested” without leaving Confluence

  • Compact list mode: Reference multiple Post IDs in one macro to render a stacked, minimal list of cards.

FAQ

Yes you can copy a link to a post, and paste it into confluence page

Yes. The macro fetches live post metadata so the card reflects the current title, description, status, and counters.

Viewers will see a clear message indicating the post is unavailable or restricted, instead of the card details.
